KARACHI, March 16: A two-day ‘IT Mela’ would be organized at the Annu Bhai Park here from March 22 to help foster awareness among the masses regarding the information technology, its uses and benefits.

This was stated by the Sindh IT Adviser Mohammad Noman Saigol at a press briefing here on Thursday.

He said that the event was being organized by the Sindh IT Department keeping in view the significance of information technology.

The adviser said that such events would also be arranged in other cities and areas of the province.

He stated that up to 200 stalls would be set up by various IT and other companies an IT-related products would also be put on display at the stalls.

Some major companies would also provide information about the available job opportunities, he added saying that information regarding mobile phone connection and internet service etc would also be made available.

Replying to a question, Mr Saigol said that a large number of local as well as international companies had shown interest for the setting up of call centres on BOT basis.

He further stated that the Sindh government planned to establish some 400 IT awareness centres in various parts of the province.—APP
