RAWALPINDI: The district administration on Tuesday asked the District Health Authority to launch cleanliness campaign in all union councils in the district and eliminate the dengue larvae before the coming monsoon.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema visited Chamanzar Colony and during the visit he reviewed the ongoing campaign against dengue.
The deputy commissioner inquired about the implementation of standard operating procedures and attendance of dengue workers. He directed that during the drive, the health officials check every aspect which causes breeding of dengue and take immediate action to stop this.
He said that it was prime duty of the health authority to protect the people living in the houses from dengue during the surveillance and also give awareness of its prevention.
He said during the current season, if surveillance was carried out under an effective strategy, they could achieve better results in the coming days.
He said good work of the health department and dengue workers will be evaluated only after they achieve better results in the dengue affected areas last year. He said that all officials should perform their duties as a national duty. He said that these people who are performing their are no less than worship.
He said last year Potohar areas were affected badly. He said that the larger quantity of dengue larvae recovered during the current season will yield better results. On this occasion, Mr Cheema also distributed pamphlets to create awareness among citizens about dengue.
