MIRPURKHAS, March 15: Sindh Health Minister Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani has said that the government is providing basic facilities by spending hug amounts on educational institutions on a priority basis in rural and urban areas.
He was speaking as chief guest at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the government boys’ higher secondary schools in Jhuddo and in Naukot on Tuesday.
The function was attended by government officers, elected representatives and citizens.
He said that previously millions of rupees had gone down the drain for construction of government buildings at unnecessary places.
He said that efforts were under way to provide facilities in those areas which had been neglected.
He said that at a cost of Rs10 million, the building of higher secondary school Jhuddo was being constructed to benefit people.
He said that Haq Parast representatives were serving people under the leadership of Altaf Hussain without discrimination.
He said that measures had been taken to improve efficiency of the health department.
He said that the Jhuddo hospital would soon be upgraded as the taluka hospital.
BODY FOUND: The body of a boy was found in the main sewerage drain near the Government Urdu Primary School at Khad plot in Gharibabad on Tuesday.
Sweepers were cleaning the drain when they spotted a plastic bag. When opened it to find the torso of a boy.
Its head, legs and hands were missing. Town police shifted it to the civil hospital.
No case was lodged till filing of this report.
The sweepers also found another torso of an unknown person from the same drain on Wednesday in a plastic bag.
The deceased was around 25 year of age.
