PESHAWAR, March 15: Awami National Party (ANP) Central Secretary Information Zahid Khan said that the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) government had failed in maintaining peace, combating price-hike and the rampant unemployment currently prevalent in the province.
He in a statement issued here on Wednesday said that the MMA members were deceiving people and were giving statements about issues such as the Hasba Bill only to divert peoples’ attention from their failure.
He stated that the MMA had also betrayed the nation by selling their votes in the recent Senate elections.
He further said that the MMA had gambled on the 17th Constitutional Amendment which put the nation in great trouble as it resulted in the military intervention of President General Pervez Musharraf.
Mr Khan informed that the ANP would oppose the Hasba Bill because the ANP was strongly against the imposition of the ‘Mullah’s martial law’ over the people.
NOTICE ISSUED: NWFP Assembly Speaker Bakht Jehan Khan said on Wednesday that he had issued notice to all MPAs regarding a no-confidence motion against his deputy Ikramullah Shahid.
