FAISALABAD: Karachi and Lahore won their respective matches here on Wednesday to qualify for the final of the National Women’s One-Day Tournament.

Karachi and Lahore, having finished as the top two sides with nine wins each in the double round-robin stage, will lock horns in the final at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on Saturday.

On Wednesday, Karachi defeated Rawalpindi by 22 runs in their tenth-round match at Bohranwali Ground in Faisalabad.

Batting first, Omaima Sohail’s 86-ball 67 featuring seven fours steered Karachi to 167 all out in 41 overs.

Karachi spinners led by Omaima (4-34) played a vital role in restricting Rawalpindi to 145 all out in 49.4 overs. Maham Manzoor and Syeda Aroob Shah shared five wickets between them.

In a low-scoring thriller at the Iqbal Stadium, Peshawar successfully defended a scanty 110 to edge out Multan by four runs.

Peshawar’s Aleena Shah helped her team cross the 100-mark with a dogged 40 as Multan’s Noor-ul-Iman grabbed five wickets for 15 runs.

In reply, Multan looked comfortable at 76-2 before losing the next eight wickets for just 30 runs with six balls to spare.

In another match, Lahore outclassed Quetta by nine wickets at the Jawad Sports Complex.

After electing to bat first, Quetta managed to post a poor total of 105 all out in 49.1 overs.

Khadija Chishti and Arijah Haseeb top-scored with 23 runs each. Lahore’s Noreen Yaqoob and Ayesha Bilal picked up three wickets apiece while Quratulain claimed two.

In reply, Dua Majid smashed an unbeaten half-century (52 off 71 balls, six fours) while giving her team a 55-run opening stand alongside Samiya Afsar (31).

Dua then added 53 runs with Iram Javed (20 not out) to seal the chase in 24 overs.

QUETTA WOMEN 105 in 49.1 overs (Arijah Haseeb 23, Khadija Chishti 23; Ayesha Bilal 3-16, Noreen Yaqoob 3-20, Quratulain 2-25); LAHORE WOMEN 108-1 in 24 overs (Dua Majid 52 not out, Iram Javed 20 not out).
