KARACHI: The leaderships of Rotary from Pakistan and India agreed to work for people-to-people contact leading towards peace through fellowship and trade between the two countries.
According to a press release issued here on Monday, the members of Rotary in Pakistan and India met at the Rotary International District 3271 conference in Karachi and signed a declaration with the purpose of initiating goodwill exchange programmes between media representatives, Rotary businessmen, representatives of trade and industry and youth of the two countries.
The declaration was signed by District Governor Hanif Khan from Pakistan and District Governor Shiv Parakash Bagaria from India.
It said: “Rotary clubs in Pakistan connected with Rotary clubs in India to have regular joint meetings either through physical exchange or though Skype in which we can invite social activists, media, business community, youth representatives, professionals and intellectuals to share views through video link.”
Muhammad Faiz Kidwai, Raju Subramanium, Aziz Memon and Ramesh Agarwal were also present on the occasion.
