The Israeli army says it won’t be distracted from its offensive on Gaza after Iran’s unprecedented strikes, Al Jazeera reports.
“Even while under attack from Iran, we have not lost sight, not for one moment, of our critical mission in Gaza to rescue our hostages from the hands of Iran’s proxy Hamas,” Israeli military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said.
About 130 people, including the bodies of 34 presumed dead, remain in held in Gaza, he added.
Hagari said Israel is “still on high alert and assessing the situation” after Iran’s attack. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi cautioned Israel against “reckless” retaliation, warning it would draw “a decisive and much stronger response”.
