HYDERABAD, Feb 3: Hyderabad District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman has asked the EDO, community development, to suggest schemes worth Rs10 million for promotion of sports and holding of sports and cultural events in the district.

He was presiding over a meeting of the EDOs with regard to preparation of new schemes under the annual development programme 2002-2003 in the Shahbaz hall here on Saturday.

The district Nazim said that a meeting of the advisory committee would be held on Feb 7 which would be attended by the taluka Nazims and the officials of the district who would give their proposals which could be incorporated in the final list to be submitted to Planning and Development department for approval.

The meeting was informed that Rs498 million had been earmarked for 73 schemes of the district, out of which Rs272.299 for 45 schemes has already been released.

To review the progress of development in the district, the coordination committee will meet on first Tuesday of every month which would also be attended by the EDOs.—Bureau
