Dacoits’ gang busted

GUJRANWALA, March 10: Satellite Town police claimed on Friday to have busted a four-member gang of dacoits after a brief encounter and recovered looted goods from their possession.

On a tip off, a police party raided zero point where the accused had gathered. On seeing the police, they opened fire which was retaliated. After a shootout, they were arrested.

Those arrested were identified as ring leader Saghir, Bilal, Shoaib and Ilyas.

Police recovered Rs200,000 in cash, jewellery and mobile phones besides illegal arms from their possession.

The police claimed that the gang had looted Rs200,000 in cash, jewellery and valuables from the house of dental surgeon Mushtaq Ahmad on Feb 2.
