Former Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid has expressed solidarity with relatives of Israeli captives protesting at Israel’s Knesset and slammed the government for failing to address their plight, Al Jazeera reports.
“These are the families of the hostages whom you abandoned, who became captives in the tunnels of Hamas under your watch,” said Lapid, addressing the government.
“There is no other country in the world where this government would have remained in power on October 8. It is a shame for generations that you remained in power, but if you’re going to remain in power, then take care of the captives and their families,” he said.
