HYDERABAD, March 10: The district government wanted to make flower show a regular event as part of a festival, said District Coordination Officer (DCO) Mohammad Sharif Awan while providing over a meeting to review arrangements for March 11-12 “Spring Flower Show” at Rani Bagh.

The formation of a permanent committee and efforts to involve people in the competition were aimed at encouraging horticulture in the city, he said. The meeting was held at DCO camp office on Thursday.

The district was also considering holding flower competition among nurseries, flower growers, schools, TMAs, district departments, hospitals, union councils, autonomous bodies and owners of bungalows.

NAZIM CANDIDATE: Syed Kamil Shah, cover candidate for the post of nazim UC-1 Hatri, has refuted allegations of the PPP levelled at a recent press conference about pre-election rigging.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Thursday, he said his party had not done anything illegal as alleged by the PPP and added that the district government was not at all supporting any candidate.

He said that nazim candidate Karim Bux Jahejo enjoyed full support of voters as he was a popular figure in the area.

He said that their opponent, Saleem Jahejo was a resident of the Matli taluka of the Badin district, who was unknown to the people of Hatri.

He said that as PPP candidate had no chance of winning the nazim slot, therefore, it had levelled false allegations.— Bureau
