LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz says that the festival of Easter is a day of sharing happiness that teaches us values of compassion, forgiveness and love for all.

She visited Maryamabad in the suburbs of Sheikhupura on Sunday and greeted the Christian community on Easter. She cut the Easter cake jointly with the Christian leaders.

Later, she visited the National Holy site located at the Maryam Church, Maryamabad.

The CM distributed Easter grants among the Christian families. She said 10,000 families had been granted Rs5.000 `Eidi’ per family across Punjab.

Meanwhile, the CM took notice of an incident of alleged rape of a midwife by two persons in Mianwali Mother and Child Hospital and sought a report from the IGP.
