ISLAMABAD: Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bharath on Thursday assumed charge as Coordinator to the Prime Minister on National Health Services (NHS).

He reached the Ministry of NHS just a few hours after the issuance of the circular by the Cabinet Division.

“The undersigned is directed to state that the Prime Minister has been pleased to appoint Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bharath, MNA as Coordinator to the Prime Minister on National Health Services with immediate effect. The appointment of Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bharath shall be in honorary capacity,” the circular stated.

“The Prime Minister has further been pleased to desire that all relevant stakeholders shall extend full cooperation to the Coordinator in discharging the official business,” it stated.

Upon the arrival of Dr Mukhtar at the ministry, Secretary Health Iftikhar Ali Shallwani, along with other officials of the ministry, welcomed the coordinator. The secretary gave a preliminary briefing on pertinent matters concerning the ministry.
