LAHORE: Three important annual thoroughbred racing events, the Pakistan Day Cup, the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup and The Syed Wajid Ali Shah Memorial Cup, highlight a seven-race card to be gone through during the 24th Lahore Winter Meeting at the Racecourse on Sunday.

The Pakistan Day Cup, commemorating the Pakistan Resolution, is a handicap race to be gone over 1100 metres. It has eight runners and looks to be an open affair.

The Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup, to be contested over 2000 metres, is a term race for four-year-old thoroughbreds and has three former Pakistan Derby winners among its five contenders.

The Syed Wajid Ali Shah Memorial Cup, meanwhile, has seven highly-bred runners.
