TOBA TEK SINGH: A Quran teacher allegedly raped a minor girl in Faisalabad’s Jaranwala tehsil, Chak 35-GB, on Wednesday.

According to an FIR registered by Satiana police under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code, the complainant stated that his eight-year-old daughter was learning the Holy Quran from the suspect, who forcibly raped her in a room of his house.

The police have arrested the suspect.

ARRESTED: The Faisalabad women police arrested a youth on Wednesday who allegedly made a naked video of a Government College University of Faisalabad fourth-semester girl student while she was bathing in the washroom of her private hostel.

In her FIR registered with the women police station under sections 354, 509, 292, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, the complainant alleged that the suspect, the brother of the female hostel owner, recorded the footage through a self-created hole in the washroom wall.

The hostel owner has yet to be arrested.

ENCOUNTER: A gunman was allegedly killed in an encounter in Khanewal’s Kabirwala area on Wednesday.

The police stated Ashraf Billa was on physical remand with Kabirwala Saddar police. He was being shifted back to the police station after the recovery of illegal arms, as indicated by him, in a police van from Bahadarabad locality when his four accomplices, riding a motorcycle, opened indiscriminate fire to free him. The police returned fire, and when the exchange ceased, they found Billa injured, who later succumbed to his injuries.

The police claimed that he died from the bullets fired by his own accomplices. They also asserted that he was involved in two dozen robberies.

HELD: Faisalabad’s People’s Colony police arrested a couple on Wednesday allegedly involved in selling narcotics to students of different educational institutions.

A press release stated that both Mobeen Idrees and his wife, Bano Parveen, of Garden Colony, were apprehended at Railway Station Chowk, and more than 1kg of ice heroin was seized from them.

A case was registered against them under sections 15-C and 9-(2)6 of The Control of Narcotic Substances Act of 1997.

ASA: The Academic Staff Association (ASA) of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, has condemned the attempt by miscreants to illegally occupy 19 kanals of the university under the pretext of allocating the land for a graveyard.

Dr Muhammad Riaz, ASA president, said that the Supreme Court had ruled in favour of the UAF regarding the ownership of the land. He emphasised that the UAF operates in the best interest of the public and respects the sanctity of Janazagah situated in front of Qaim Sain Darbar near the UAF.

He said the university management was consulting with the local community for welfare work. He urged people to support truth, discourage miscreants, and refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
