MIRPURKHAS: A speeding car ran over a constable performing duty at bus terminal on Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas road and left him seriously injured on Wednesday.

Witnesses said that police constable Irshad Ahmad Malak, a resident of Massan town, was rushed in critical condition to emergency of district headquarters hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

They said the unidentified car sped away after the accident and police were searching the car and its driver.

The constable’s funeral prayer was held in Police Lines Mirpurkhas where a large number of police officers, officials, notables and SSP attended his last rites.
