ISLAMABAD, March 7: Former prime minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has said the Balochistan crisis can be resolved only through negotiations. “I have briefed President Gen Pervez Musharraf about the psyche of the Baloch. The Balochistan issue has been deteriorating for years and the only way out to resolve the issue is through talks,” Jamali said soon after his meeting with President Gen Musharraf while talking to a private TV channel on Tuesday.

He said: “I have discussed a host of issues with President Gen Musharraf ranging from Balochistan to regional issues to US President Bush’s visit.”

Other provinces too are facing law and order situations, he said, adding but the situation in Balochistan is returning to normalcy as the people are coming back to their home towns.

To a query, he said the Sardari system had been in place in Balochistan for years and people of the restive province had faith that the system was helping in settling their disputes.—Online
