RAWALPINDI: In addition to 1,700 police officials, over 6,500 civilian volunteers will be performing security duty at mosques and imambargahs while the Elite Force and police mobile vehicles will patrol to ensure foolproof security during Ramazan.

City Police Officer (CPO) Khalid Hamdani stated that round-the-clock foolproof security would be ensured during Ramazan and all resources would be used to ensure peace and discipline in the holy month.

According to a police spokesman, an effective security plan had been chalked out under which more than 1,700 officers would perform security duties along with over 6,500 civilian volunteers at mosques and imambargahs.

In meetings with the peace committee and Ulema, presence of civil volunteers will guarantee the execution of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
