SARGODHA: Police have arrested the couple allegedly involved in the case of torture and murder of a 12-year-old housemaid here on Tuesday.

The father of deceased housemaid, Ayesha Bibi (12), Muhammad Tahir, a labourer and resident of Chak 84, had complained to the police that his daughter worked at the house of Jawad Bhatti, the contractor of Laksian Toll Plaza on Lahore Road.

He alleged that the suspects, Jawad and his wife, subjected Ayesha to severe torture, causing serious injuries.

The couple left the injured girl at their house and fled away, resulting in her death.

Acting on the complaint, on March 1, Laksian police recovered the girl’s body from the suspects house, and shifted it to the hospital for the postmortem examination.

A murder case was registered against the couple and police started investigation.

The DPO formed a special team headed by an SP and comprising Kot Momin ASP to arrest the suspects.

The police team conducted raids in different areas of Multan, Faisalabad, Hafizabad and Sargodha and using modern technology and other resources finally arrested the suspects from Lahore and Hafizabad.

TRANSFERRED: Taking notice of an incident in which a child was seriously injured by kite string, Sargodha DPO transferred the city (urban area) police SHO.
