The Free and Fair Election Network (Fafen) has rejected PTI leader Shoaib Shaheen’s claims that the organisation called for the resignation of the Election Commission of Pakistan.

“Fafen has asked the political leader not to drag independent civil society groups in their politicking and do their homework before making public statements,” it said in a press release.

Fafen said it believed that the existing ECP should lead any audit of legally challenged constituencies using data analytics and forensics. “Such an audit must also involve the representatives of political parties and candidates concerned along with independent observers,” it added.
