PTI Senator Barrister Ali Zafar has said that President Dr Arif Alvi never refused to summon the National Assembly session.

Speaking on Geo News programme ‘Capital Talk’, the PTI leader clarified that the president had made it clear in his letter to the caretaker prime minister that he was ready to summon the first National Assembly session provided that the house was completed according to the Constitution.

Barrister Zafar said a “complete” National Assembly was supposed to have notified reserved seats for women and minorities. “When these are complete, the National Assembly will be formed,” he added.

The PTI leader also said that the speaker could not summon the first session of the new National Assembly.
