In Khan Younis, where most of the fighting has taken place since the expanded ground invasion, the situation remains grave, Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud reports from Rafah, Gaza.

There has been an intense exchange of fire in the vicinity of Nasser Hospital, where the Israeli military continues to deny the entry of relief convoys. This is stopping the hospital from getting the supply of water or fuel it needs for the power generators to get its ICU and incubators working again.

In addition to Nasser Hospital, the charitable health facility operated by the Palestine Red Crescent Society in the western part of the city has been put out of service. We’re looking at an entire city — from the border on the eastern side to the coastal road by the Mediterranean shore — with no operational health facilities.
