ISLAMABAD : The Young Researchers’ Convention (YRC) 2024 of Centre for Strategic and Contemporary Research (CSCR) has concluded stressing for the development of research strategies on vital national interest issues in Pakistan.

The convention brought together over 40 young and mid-career professionals from thinktanks, universities and international non-governmental organisations to engage in critical discussions called for redefining national security as well as development of a climate change resilience strategy.

Dr Huma Baqai, Rector of Millennium Institute of Technology and Entrepreneurship (MITE) Karachi, emphasised that Pakistan should focus on incorporating economic development, social cohesion, and environmental sustainability into the redefinition of national security.

Talha Ibrahim, Director of Academics at CSCR, underlined the significance of the four thematic areas of the convention.

Ambassador Zamir Akram emphasised the need for Pakistan to work closely with such major powers with whom it has strategic convergence, which is currently more China than the United States.
