CHITRAL: Former MNA and nominee of Jamaat-i-Islami for NA-1, Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali has accused the leadership of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl of bribing the voters to purchase their loyalties in a bid to defeat him in the elections.

Talking to the ediapersons here on Monday, he claimed JUI-F local leadership had been given the ‘special task’ by Maulana Fazlur Rehman to ensure that he (Chitrali) didn’t win the elections.

He alleged awarding JUI-F ticket to a non-local multi-billionaire businessman from Haripur (Senator Talha Mahmood) was part of a conspiracy against him as he doled out cash of hundreds of millions of rupees to the people in the villages where he had got votes in large number in the 2018 elections.

Explaining the reason for the JUI-F leadership’s opposition, he said he never hesitated to fully expose the wrongdoings of the last PDM-led government, especially of the ministers belonging to JUI-F.
