OKARA: The PML-N retained three out of four National Assembly and all the eight seats of the Punjab Assembly in the district, say unofficial results.

Chaudhry Nadeem Abbas Rubera bagged NA-135 with 129,218 votes against PTI-backed Malik Muhammad Akram Bhatti who got 106,700 votes. This is Rubera’s third consecutive return to NA.

In NA-136, PML-N’s Riazul Haq Juj bagged 127,095 votes against his rival PTI-backed independent Rao Hasan Sikander who got 80,298 votes.

In NA-137, PML-N’s Rao Muhammad Ajmal Khan secured 105,381 but lost to Syed Raza Ali Gillani who got 131,925 votes. Rao Ajmal had violated party discipline by fielding his son Saad Ajmal under his PP wing instead of backing party ticket-holder Malik Ali Abbas Khokhar who won PP-189.

In NA-138, N’s Mian Muhammad Moeen Khan Wattoo, ex-MPA, bagged 122,678 votes and defeated Mian Manzoor Ahmad Khan Wattoo who secured 79,692 votes. This is Moeen Khan Wattoo’s third consecutive victory.

For Punjab Assembly, PML-N’s Ch Javid Allauddin won PP-185 by securing 52,106 votes against PTI’s Mahr Javid Sial who got 46,200 votes. This is Allauddin’s fifth consecutive win.

In PP-192, Ch Ghulam Raza Rubera secured 63,729 votes against his rival Rai Hammad Aslam Kharal who got 57033 votes. In 2018, Hammad had lost to Raza Rubera, younger brother of Nadeem Abbas Rubera , by a thin margin of 800 votes.

In PP-190, former provincial minister Mian Yawar Zaman got 63,899 votes against PTI-backed candidate Mehr Abdul Sattar who secured 52,600 votes. This was Zaman’s fifth consecutive win

PML-N’s Mian Muhammad Munir, party’s district president, won PP-191 with 46,230 votes and defeated PTI-backed Ch Muhammad Saleem Sadiq who got 44,411 votes.

In PP-186, N candidate Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani won with 43,179 votes against PTI-backed Syed Gulzar Hussnain who bagged 32,064 votes.

In PP-187, Ch Iftikhar Hussain Chachhar got 60,657 votes against rival Mian Muhammad Fayyaz who bagged 37,342 votes.

This is Chachhar’s consecutive fifth win.

In PP-188, N’s Mian Noor Wattoo succeeded second time and got 56,596 votes against Mian Moazzam Jahan Zeb Wattoo who managed 37,913 votes.

In PP-189 PML-N candidate Malik Ali Abbas Khokhar secured 40,476 votes and defeated PTI-backed Ch Tariq Irshad Khan who got 38,228.
