Tariq Bugti nominated as PHF president: PSB

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Mini­ster Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has nominated Tariq Bugti as president of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), the Pakistan Sports Board confirmed on Tuesday.

“Upon acceptance of the resignation tendered by retired Brig Mohammad Khalid Sajjad Khokhar from the post of President, Pakistan Hockey Federation and in pursuance of powers conferred under Article 15 of the Constitution of Pakistan Hockey Federation, the Prime Minister in his capacity as Patron-in-Chief, PHF is pleased to nominate Mr Tariq Hussain Masoori Bugti as President, PHF with immediate effect. Pakistan Sports Board’s earlier letter/Notification No.F.7-18/2020-PSB(NF) dated Dec 22, 2023 stands modified,” read a notification issued by the PSB on Tuesday.

When contacted by Dawn, PSB Director General Shoaib Khoso confirmed that the PM had nominated Tariq as his nominee for the post of president PHF. “[Yes] we have issued a notification in this regard,” Shoaib said.
