RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday urged the people to vote for ‘arrow’ for prosperity and progress in the country.

He was addressing a huge rally in NA-51 Kahuta where PPP has fielded Mehreen Anwar Raja.

He said that on his way to Kahuta he saw people on the streets raising the slogan of ‘Jeay Bhutto (long live Bhutto)’. The people of Kahuta have immense love for the party and its leadership, he said.

Mr Zardari said that the roads to Kahuta and other parts of the area are in tatters. “The first thing the party will do is to construct the roads. I know the problems of the people living in the area,” he said. “Trees are being cut because you do not have gas and we will provide you gas,” he resolved.

Former president promised that his party would build a university and medical college as well as a hospital.

“The country was in an adverse condition in 2008 when the PPP came to power andgot the country out of the crisis, hence it has the wisdom to help Pakistan emerge from the current quagmire too,” he said.

Mr Zardari said that he knew this terrain well. He paid tributes to Raja Anwar who has given him a sister like Mehreen Anwar Raja. He expressed the hope that Mehreen Anwar Raja will win with the support of the people of the area. She has stood with me in tough times, he said.
