US forces failed to identify the deadly drone attack near the borders of Jordan, Syria and Iraq because there was an American drone returning to the base at the same time of the incident, the Wall Street Journal reports, citing US officials.
The US drone’s return “led to some confusion” about the nature of the enemy drone, the officials said.
