There was a ramming attack that took place in the Israeli city of Haifa not very long ago. The Israeli military issued a short statement with three sentences, Al Jazeera’s Rory Challands reports from occupied East Jerusalem.

“What we understand is a 20-year-old soldier has been critically injured with wounds to the lower legs. The attacker was 20 years old as well. He was from Tamara, which is a Palestinian village in Israel,” Challands said.

“Pictures on social media show the body of the young man lying on the street with a hatchet lying next to him, also a car with a smashed-in front that’s been rammed into a building,” he added.
