HYDERABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party Senator Maula Bux Chandio has said that experiments in the country had weakened the country’s foundations.

He was speaking to PPP workers at a corner meeting in Qasimabad for the party’s candidates, Tariq Shah Jamote and Jam Khan Shoro, on Sunday.

Recalling former army chief’s and certain judges’ conduct during PTI government, Chandio claimed that General Qamar Javed Bajwa and the judges had been giving an impression that [then PM] Imran Khan was a solution to all the ills facing the country.

He said Imran Khan had sold buffaloes and announced that he would get governor house demolished after becoming the premier. He sarcastically said that Khan did not demolish even a wall of governor house to keep his words. He said PPP did not want to forcibly keep PTI away from the election process.

The senior PPP leader said one political party had created an impression that its leader was going to become the prime minister.

This party, he added, was making the elections doubtful.

He noted that with just 12 days to go, [PML-N supremo] Nawaz Sharif addressed his party’s first election rally only yesterday (Saturday) and believed that he would become the prime minister. “But such an environment doesn’t exist,” he remarked.

“Nawaz Sharif always pursues his regional thinking and he banks on his motorway project,” he observed.

Senator Chandio said if Nawaz Sharif was thrust upon Pakistan, it would be harmful to the country’s integrity and stop the country’s progress. He maintained that [former NAB chief] Saifur Rehman had taken revenge in the name of accountability during Nawaz government.
