KARACHI, Feb 28: Chief Minister’s Adviser on Environment Noman Saigal announced on Tuesday establishment of Bird Flu Crisis Management Cell comprising officers of Sindh Environment Protection Agency.

Addressing an emergency meeting of SEPA officials, he said that the cell would apprise people about the precautionary steps according to the emerging situation. These officers would also keep close liaison with NGOs and the research institutions to gather maximum information for public benefit, he added.

He advised owners of poultry farms and the workers associated with this industry to adopt precautionary measures in the wake of growing risk of bird flu. He also advised the general public to be careful while consuming chicken and eggs as prevention was the only remedy to bird flu virus, says an official statement.—APP
