ISLAMABAD: The caretaker federal government on Friday appointed an interim director general of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
A notification issued by the establishment division stated, “With the approval of the federal government, Ahmad Ishaq Jehangir, a BS-21 Officer of Police Service of Pakistan, presently serving in FIA is transferred and posted/appointed as Director General, FIA and under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973, with immediate effect and until further orders.”
The post of DG FIA is of BS-22 officer, however, the federal government can appoint one step junior officer to a senior position under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act.
