KARACHI, Feb 28: Five ships carrying steel coils, containers and to load ethanol are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was active where seven vessels were berthed to load rice and offload containers and general cargo. They are: Kota Mesra, Orient Independent, Song Yuan He and Global Princess, to unload and load containers, Sea Reliance, Larymna to offload steel cargo and Eber to load rice.

Sailing was on the lower side as only one ship, Ever Greater departed, while Selcon, Larymna, Sea Reliance, Global Princess and Kota Mesra are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was modest owing to lesser handling of liquid tonnage, falling to 33,070 tons comprising 13,142 tons of export cargo including 3,323 tons of rice and 1,348 tons of cement and 19,928 tons of import tonnage, which also included 1,007 tons of sugar.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Fairchem Mustang, to load 4,000 tons of ethanol, Hyundai Stride, with containers, Thor Nautilos, with steel coils, Delfineki, with general cargo and Pacific Express, with steel cargo and to load 13 trucks.
