PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has requested the Power Division to seek the approval of the Election Commission of Pakistan to assign the office of its chief executive officer to Akhtar Hamid Khan until the filling of the vacancy on a regular basis.
In a letter to the Power Division, the Pesco noted that its board of directors, in its meeting on Jan 25, 2024, resolved to assign the charge of the CEO’s post to Akbar Hamid Khan, chief engineer (O&M) Pesco Peshawar, purely on temporary basis with an immediate effect until the appointment of a CEO from the open market through competitive process.
“The board has desired that the case may be sent to the ministry of energy (power) division Islamabad for seeking approval of ECP for its approval,” the power utility said in the letter.
