PESHAWAR, Feb 27: A juvenile court on Monday dismissed bail application of eight juvenile offenders arrested in connection with the violent demonstrations here. The court presided over by judicial magistrate Kashif Nadeem observed that the accused did not deserve release on bail.

The applicants, were arrested by the Kabuli police station after the riots and demonstrations arranged on Feb 15 against the publication of blasphemous cartoons in some European countries.

The applicants counsel presented different documents including the school leaving certificates and birth certificates of the applicants to prove that they were juvenile offenders.

The counsel argued that the applicants were arrested after the riots when the actual culprits had escaped from the scene.

He pointed out that other juvenile courts had already granted bail to more than 100 juvenile offenders in such like cases.
