A further 142 Palestinians were reported killed and 278 injured by Israeli attacks on Gaza in the 24 hours, Al Jazeera reports, citing the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA).

The availability of drinking water is also “shrinking each day” in the Palestinian enclave amid what the World Health Organization has described as “inhumane living conditions” and the spread of disease, including confirmed cases of hepatitis A.

UNOCHA also reported that the Israeli military destroyed Israa University in az-Zahra, south of Gaza City, after Israeli forces had used the campus for 70 days as a base and “an ad hoc detention facility for interrogating Palestinian detainees before their transfer to an unknown location”.
