TAXILA: Students and parents have protested against the management of a private college on Friday for putting educational careers at stake, as the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) in Islamabad has withheld the results of some students, attributing it to the non-payment of examination fees.

The students and parents expressed that they had been going through a stressful time due to the gross negligence and irresponsibility of the management of Oaks College in Wah Cantonmen, as the FBISE has halted the results of some students for the last week due to nonpayment of their fees.

The concerned students told the mediaperson that they appeared in the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (HSSC) Part II in October 2023 after paying the requisite fees to Oaks School.

They noted that the board had announced the results of all the students appearing in exams but had halted the results of some students at this college on the pretext that their fees were not duly paid, but the students claimed that they had submitted all the required fees to the college administration.

The parents commented that they have been going around between the college administration and FBISE for the release of the results of their respective wards.

They added that they also visited the FBISE Islamabad office to obtain the results, but the authority refused to release the results on the plea that they should consult the respective college and ask them to pay their outstanding dues, but the college administration claimed that they had paid their dues.

When contacted, an official of the examination branch of the FBISE informed the reporter that they have not issued the results of certain candidates who appeared in HSSC Part II across the country whose examination fee was not deposited.

“The respective colleges pay their outstanding dues and get their results released,” he explained.

When contacted, the owner/principal of the college, Owais Ahmed Khan, confirmed that the results of some students appearing in the HSSC Part II annual-two were stopped due to some “technical reasons’.

Responding to a question, Mr Khan replied that college administration is in touch with concerned authorities, and hopefully the matter will be resolved “soon.”
