An Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) radio presenter was sacked after she shared a Human Rights Watch (HRW) report on her personal social media account, Al Jazeera reports.
“HRW reporting starvation as a tool of war,” Antoinette Lattouf wrote in an Instagram post in December, citing the report.
Australia’s Fair Work Commission will hold a hearing on Thursday into the circumstances surrounding the termination of Lattouf’s contract. Her lawyer, Josh Bornstein, alleged the Lebanese-Australian broadcaster was fired because of her “political views and race”.
ABC told Al Jazeera it couldn’t comment “on the basis our response has been filed with Fair Work Australia”.
