The incidents took place in the Israeli town of Ra’anana, 20 kilometers north of Tel Aviv, Al Jazeera reports, citing The Times of Israel.

The Times of Israel, citing the local ambulance service, said five of the victims were critically hurt, including a woman in her 70s. Witnesses told Israel’s Army Radio the incident may have been a car-jacking during which the stolen vehicle crashed.

Israel’s police spokesperson Eli Levy told Army Radio the motive for the attack could not yet be determined “with certainty”.

Police say the suspect who carried out the apparent terror attack in Ra’anana is a Palestinian from the West Bank city of Hebron and has been arrested.
