Mushfiqur named in Test squad

CHITTAGONG, Feb 25: Bangladesh recalled Mushfiqur Rahim to a 15-member squad on Saturday to face Sri Lanka in the first of two Tests next week.

The selectors left out Mashrafe bin Mortaza, Nazmul Hossain, Tushar Imran, Manjurul Islam Rana and Abdur Razzak, who were included in an initial 20-member pool.

Rahim, a right-hand batsman and wicket-keeper, made his Test debut against England at Lord’s last year. He also led Bangladesh Under-19 at the recent World Cup in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan selectors included top off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan in a 15-member Test team named earlier.

The second Test starts on March 8 in northern Bogra town.
