Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories has said that 45 per cent of people in Gaza are experiencing “severe hunger”.
In a post on X, she said in some areas, nine out of 10 families go 24 hours without food.
“This aggravates charges of genocide, as physical destruction can be achieved through starvation,” she said, questioning why media and human rights monitors were not allowed to enter Gaza.
