SHIKARPUR, Feb 25: Federal Minister for Narcotics Ghous Bux Mahar has expressed concern over deteriorating law and order situation in the Shikarpur district particularly in Lakhi and Garhi Yasin talukas.

He accused some influential factions for providing shelter to criminals for maintaining their domination over the people of the areas.

He was talking to reporters on occasion of chehlum of his daughter-in-law at the Mahar house here on Friday evening.

He said that some professional criminals were busy to deteriorate law and order situation in the district without any fear of the legal action.

He said that some of his opponents were sheltering and harbouring them at every stage aimed at damaging the political image and personal reputation of the Mahar group in the district.

He said that no one would be allowed to create lawlessness and all legal and moral efforts would be taken to ensure peace and tranquillity.

Mr Mahar expressed satisfaction over police efforts to control crime.

SCCI: Members of the executive committee of the Shikarpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry through a resolution adopted at a special meeting demanded that the government should sever diplomatic and trade relations with Denmark and other European countries involved in publication of blasphemous cartoons.
