APWA rejects discrepancy in accounts

ISLAMABAD, Feb 25: Committee members of All Pakistan Women Association (APWA), Islamabad liaison office, have denied rumours about discrepancies in the accounts of the association’s capital office.

Talking to mediapersons on Saturday, APWA Islamabad liaison office, Chairperson Najma Mahmoodullah and her committee members — Nasreen Mazhar, Naila Saadat, Asma Khurram, Mani Saleem and Dr Fehmida Shah — said it had come to their notice that unfounded rumours were circulating about the change in the committee which was causing distress among those who had worked hard as volunteers over the years.

These rumours are baseless. All accounts have been audited and they are crystal clear. In fact the committee members have made major contributions to APWA, they said.

The members said the Islamabad liaison office affairs had been handed over the association’s president, Begum Laila Haroon Sarfaraz.
