The United Nations’ humanitarian agency (OCHA) has said that daily food assistance, on average, only reached eight per cent of the targeted Gazans in need in the last week of December.
In a situation update, the OCHA said its food security partners have identified all 2.2 million people in the Gaza strip to be in “urgent need of food assistance each day”.
The agency further said that interventions for gender-based violence prevention, response, and risk mitigation “remain extremely difficult given the collapse of services and displacement of service providers and movement restrictions”.
