Desecration case remand extended

SUKKUR, Feb 24: The main accused in the case of desecration of the Holy Quran, Irfan, was produced in the anti-terrorism court-II, Sukkur, on Friday. The court extended police remand for three days after which he was shifted to an undisclosed place.

Meanwhile, MNA Asadullah Bhutto, Maulana Mohammad Murad Halejvi, Qari Khalil and others visited St Saviour’s and St. Mary’s churches which were set ablaze during violent incidents after the alleged desecration of the Holy Quran.

They said that the government and its agencies were behind the incidents.

KIDNAPPED: Gunmen kidnapped Waqar Ahmed Soomro, Zulfiqar Abro, Imdad Dasti, Shahnawaz Khoso and Nadir Ali Lashari from Gandhawa, Jhal Magsi, in Balochistan on Friday.
