South Africa is accusing Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) of war crimes, mass displacement, and indiscriminate bombings, and they say there are actions that constitute genocide, Al Jazeera reports.

“Israel is a signatory to the UN Convention on Genocide so it has to take this seriously. Its National Security Adviser Tzachi Hanegbi came out with a statement after discussions with the top brass in the Israeli army, the coalition government, and the war cabinet, and said they will challenge this in court.

“He used pretty strong language, saying they would vehemently counter what he called an absurd lawsuit. But there is a lot of international pressure ramping up now. The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation agreed that this is a genocide, and said it will support this ruling and for the ICJ case to go ahead.” the AJ reports citing its correspondent.
