KARACHI, Feb 24: Different options are being considered for providing compensation to the owners/occupants of the ground plus six-storied apartment building ‘Rabia View’ in case the building whose three columns have sunk is either partially or fully demolished, sources in the KBCA told Dawn on Friday.

However, a final decision in this regard will be taken after receiving a technical report from the builder’s consultant and once the investigations into the matter are completed by the KBCA’s technical committee for dangerous buildings, the sources added.

The ‘Rabia View’ situated on Plot No GRW-114 in Garden West area was declared unsafe on Wednesday by the KBCA technical committee.

Sources said that in case of demolition of the entire building, the land on which the building is situated will be sold in open market and the proceeds will be distributed among the affected allottees/owners. But if a couple of its floors are demolished, then the builder will be asked to pay compensation or accommodate the affected occupants in some other housing projects.
