TAXILA: During a crackdown against anti-social elements and proclaimed offenders (POs), the Attock Police arrested eight suspects from different parts of the district on Monday, including two suspects wanted in a murder case.

As per a police spokesman, Rango Police arrested two accused, Mohammad Waseem and Kashif, who had allegedly beaten to death a shepherd, Mohammad Ibraheem, a native of Afghanistan, over grazing cattle on their land in the Shamsabad area a few days ago.

Both the accused exchanged hot words with Ibraheem over a cattle grazing dispute and then attacked him with sticks and rods, beating him to death.

Later, both suspects fled from the scene. Police raided their hideout on Monday and arrested them.

Meanwhile, Pindigheb Police and Bhattar Police arrested two proclaimed offenders (PO) in theft cases, Basit Ali and Kamran Khan, separately in their areas.

Moreover, Rango Police arrested four people while gambling over quail’s fight in Kotkay village.

The police, acting on a tip, raided the spot and arrested four gamblers who had bet money amounting to Rs 0.2 million, and three fighting quails were also seized.
