India has released the second tranche of a $2.5 million contribution to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, according to a statement released by the Representative Office of India in Palestine, Al Jazeera reports.

The contribution will fulfil India’s annual donation of $5m for the 2023-24 year period, the statement said.

The tranche, handed over by Charge d’Affaires in Palestine Elizabeth Rodrigues, will aim to support the core programmes and services of UNRWA, including education, healthcare, relief and social services to Palestinian refugees, it added.
