KARACHI:PA session today

Published February 24, 2006

KARACHI, Feb 23: The requisitioned session of the Sindh Assembly will resume its business on Friday after a break of 21 days.

The session, which was called by Speaker Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah on Feb 3 on the requisition of the Opposition was adjourned for Feb 24 after adoption of a unanimous resolution condemning the publication of highly blasphemous cartoons by a Danish newspaper and a reproduction of the same by certain other newspapers and periodicals of France, Norway and other European countries.

The Opposition’s business, which was mentioned in the requisition, was not taken up. The issues raised were the same, which were the basis for the last requisitioned session — water reservoirs, new NFC Award and situation in Balochistan.
